Eli Tovbeyn is a 33 year old husband and father of 6 year old daughter Natalie. Eli was healthy and athletic when he began to suffer from what seemed like an endless bout of flu. In May 2009 he was diagnosed with acute Leukemia - AML. Eli's only chance for survival is to undergo a bone marrow transplant.

Recently, Marc Gold was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. His family is desperately seeking a donor for a bone marrow transplant.
Many times it is possible to find a bone marrow match in one of your parents. Marc has not been so lucky. His mother is not a match, and last year, Marc’s father was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. His best chance for a match lies within the Ashkenazi Jewish community; however, anybody could be a possible match.

Elizabeth Munch

Elizabeth Munch was diagnosed with Acute Myelodic Leukemia. With no family match, her only chance of survival is an unrelated marrow or blood stem cell transplant. You can make a difference. Please help save Elizabeth and others like her. Be tested! A simple cheek swamb. No Needles. No blood.

Kim Urquizu

Kim Urquizu is a 41 year old mother of 3. Her children are Jack (14), Kate (11), and Emma (8). She is an amazing person and there are many who call Kim their best friend! She is a person who lives and loves with her whole heart with integrity and enthusiasm. She was working on her Masters in Education when she was diagnosed with AML and is 3 credits shy of getting her degree from Northern Illinois University. She is an extremely optimistic person and, although her tenacity has been severely tested, she continues to look forward to the future.

Josh Rubin

Josh Rubin is an adorable five-year old boy who has a rare form of leukemia. A marrow transplant will save his life. His family & friends have begun a world-wide search for the perfect marrow match for Josh. Please help Josh by being tested to become a potential marrow donor. You may be his perfect match.

Devin Fort

Devin Fort is a seven-year-old boy who has Aplastic Anemia and desperately needs a bone marrow transplant to live. Devin's friends, family and teachers are reaching out to the community to recruit potential marrow donors. Please help Devin by registering to become a potential bone marrow donor.

Cassie Urbany

Cassie Urbany is a fun-loving 15-year-old who was recently diagnosed with aplastic anemia and desperately needs a bone marrow transplant to live. On behalf of Cassie and others like her, please become a volunteer marrow donor.

Amy Katz

Eleven-year-old Amy Katz has leukemia and a bone marrow (stem cell) transplant is the only known cure for her type of cancer. Amy is a 7th grader who lives in Pittsburgh. She is active on the student council, she loves to play the trumpet, she is learning Spanish and, before she became ill, had just made the cut for the travel soccer team. Please help her by registering to become a bone marrow donor.

Deborah Ziff-Cook

Last year, Friends of Allison conducted several drives for Deborah Ziff-Cook a 35 year old much admired school teacher. Deborah says, “When I got sick I had to leave my job, a job that I loved dearly. I was a fifth grade teacher at Murch Elementary School in Washington, DC. I left my students after only four weeks of the 2003-2004 school year. We had just begun to come together as a group, and one of the things that upset me most about being sick was not knowing who would take over the education and care of my students.” Read more of Deborah’s amazing story here.

Linda Schlafman was tested at a marrow donor drive in 1989 for Allison Atlas. Unfortunately she did not match Allison, but in 1997 Linda was called upon to donate her marrow to save Joanie Morse’s life.

Linda wrote the following:

"This picture was taken when we vacationed together last year in Palm Desert, California. I often joke that - of course - I was a perfect match for a "valley girl" who has a condo in Palm Desert! But, in fact, the best result is that Joanie has a "new" life and we have a wonderful relationship. One never realizes the joy "giving" can "give."

Matthew Pearl, who suffered from fanconi Anemia found a donor and is doing great. His sister Alex had a transplant in May of 2001 and is also doing well. The Pearl family hopes other children who suffer from blood related diseases will have the same opportunity for life. They encourage all those who can to register to become bone marrow donors.
